Selma Epstein Shore, died Friday, November 11, 1999. Mrs. Shore was born on February 3, 1926 to parents Ida and Abraham Epstein in New York City. She received a B.A. Degree from Hunter College (NY) and a M.A. Degree from College of the City of New York. Selma taught elementary education in the New York Public School System and Kindergarten in Chicago and Dallas. Selma was a resident of Dallas for 46 years. Selma poured her creative talents into painting, quilting, sewing, blockprinting, collections, and gardening. Selma was elected to the Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood Hall of Fame. She served as Chair of the Aesthetics Committee at Temple Emanu-El and chair of the Chanukah Decorations Project at Golden Acres. In addition, she was a volunteer at the Dallas Museum of Art, Go Van Gogh. Selma was a member of the National Council of Jewish Women, Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood, and many environmental and conservation organizations. Selma was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Selma is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dr. Herbert Shore, and daughter Debra (and her partner, Kathleen Gillespie), daughter Wendy Rosenfeld, and son Andrew (and his partner, Randy Clarke); and grandchildren Evan MacAdams, Benjamin Smith, and Renee Rosenfeld. Also by her brother Robert Epstein and his wife, Rose, sister, Dorothy Weidenfeld and many nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be Sunday November 14, 1999 at 4:00pm in the Temple Emanu-El Sanctuary, Rabbis David Stern, Debra Robbins, Gerald J. Klein, officiating. Interment Temple Emanu-El Cemetery. Pallbearers; Ito Perl, Dr. Fred Grinnell, Martin Litwin, Dr. Kerry Sulkowicz, Ira Panzer, Jeff Baker, Fred Greene, and Steven Woghin. Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Mark Fleschler, Fred Baker, Adam Sulkowicz, Bud Sanger, Jeff Satz, Jason Panzer, David and Mark Fishman.
